Alkanet Root Extract (Alkanna tinctoria) is an oil-soluble botanical ingredient containing naturally occurring red-purple pigments.
This natural cosmetic colour is particularly suited to oil-based skincare and cosmetic formulations, including facial oils, balms, cleansing oils and other anhydrous products.
Its naturally occurring pigment can produce shades ranging from soft pink and red through to deeper purple tones, depending on the formulation and concentration.

ABOUT ALKANET ROOT
Alkanna tinctoria, commonly known as Alkanet, is a botanical traditionally valued for the naturally occurring pigments found in its roots.
The root contains alkannin, a naturally occurring red pigment that is oil soluble and responsible for the characteristic red-purple colour associated with Alkanet.
