Cornflower is one of those quietly captivating plants, the kind that dots wildflower meadows with flashes of soft blue and lavender pink, attracting bees with its open, nectar rich blooms. It’s a pollinator favourite, supporting biodiversity and natural ecosystems with very little intervention.

At Incicellar, we’ve captured the delicate essence of this beautiful bloom in our new Cornflower Extract, made from sustainably grown flowers right here in the UK. Carefully harvested and extracted into a glycerin rich base with water, this extract is fully water soluble, offering versatility for water based formulations like mists, toners, emulsions, and soothing eye products.

The pigments that give cornflowers their distinctive colours, from vivid blue to soft pink, come from a group of water soluble compounds called anthocyanins. These plant based colourants are responsible not only for the flower’s striking hues but also offer gentle antioxidant and soothing properties.

Cornflower extracts have a long history in traditional herbal preparations, particularly for calming the delicate skin around the eyes and relieving puffiness or irritation. Naturally rich in flavonoids and mild astringent compounds, it’s an ideal addition to gentle, skin comforting blends.
