Hydrolysed Nettle Protein is produced by enzymatically breaking down nettle protein into smaller peptides using papain, a naturally derived proteolytic enzyme from papaya. This process creates low molecular weight peptides that are easier to incorporate into cosmetic formulations.
Nettle (Urtica dioica) has a long history of use in traditional herbal preparations and is a well-known botanical in skincare and haircare. It naturally contains proteins, amino acids, minerals such as silica, iron and magnesium, along with a range of polyphenolic compounds, which have contributed to its popularity in cosmetic applications.
