Rhubarb Extract (Rheum rhabarbarum) is an oil-soluble botanical ingredient made using Yorkshire-grown rhubarb root, extracted into safflower seed oil.

This Incicellar Exclusive brings a distinctly British botanical into oil-based and anhydrous cosmetic formulations, offering formulators something different from more familiar botanical extracts.

WHAT IS RHUBARB EXTRACT KNOWN FOR?

Rhubarb has a long history in European culinary and traditional herbal practices, making it an interesting botanical for formulators looking to explore plants with a strong sense of place.

Rhubarb root contains naturally occurring botanical compounds including anthraquinones and phenolic compounds.

Here, the root is extracted into safflower seed oil, creating an oil-soluble format that can be incorporated into a range of cosmetic formulations.

Suitable for oil-containing and anhydrous formulations, including:

Use at 1–10% and incorporate into the oil phase of your formulation.
